NEW DELHI: About 4,065 Delhi University aspirants—3,026 boys and 1,039 girls—have appeared for the centralized fitness test for sports quota admissions. A total of 1,412 came to take the test on the final day—some of them had come on all three days and got a chance only on the last.
University authorities had issued slips to about 500 candidates on Friday and asked them to return early the next morning.
Most of them arrived by 7am and completed the test in a few hours. Some, who did not get a chance on Friday, although they were issued chest numbers, also finished their test quite early.
Many students directly arrived on Saturday because they had been warned by their friends. On the first two days, candidates had complained about getting dehydrated and absence of a proper waiting area but on the last winds brought some relief to those waiting in the sun for hours. Buffeted by the wind, tents collapsed but no one was injured.
A total of 1,179 boys and 233 girls underwent the test on Saturday. Students enquiring about results were asked to check the website on June 22.
